The 2022 General Election, also known as the November Midterms, is three weeks away. As Election Day approaches, we want to remind you of several voter deadlines. Missing these deadlines can make it harder or not possible for you to vote on Tuesday, November 8.
The last day to register to vote in the November Midterms is Monday, October 24. You can register online on the Alabama Secretary of State's website, in-person at your county's Board of Registrars office, or by mailing a filled-out printed application to your county's Board of Registrars office.
If you believe that you are already registered, we still encourage you to verify your voter status before October 24. For more information about voter registration in Alabama, please visit the Secretary of State's website.
Alabama voters who are unable to vote in-person on November 8 have the option to vote absentee. If you plan to vote absentee, there are three different deadlines that can affect doing so.
- Last day to apply for absentee ballot by mail: November 1, 2022
- Last day to apply for absentee ballot in-person: November 3, 2022
- Last day to hand-deliver absentee ballot: November 7, 2022
For more information about absentee voting in Alabama, visit the Secretary of State's website.
We hope to see all Alabamians exercising their right to vote next month. This election will determine seats for local, state, and federal positions. Take this opportunity to select who you want to represent you and your state.
