Werk The Lege (Lege meaning Legislature) is a legislative advocacy training program for everyday Alabamians who want to learn about and engage in Alabama’s legislative process. In a series of virtual Zoom sessions, our team will highlight and present on topics that are urgent for Alabamians to know.
In our March 25 session, we will discuss the Alabama Legislature and how it is funneling bad bills that keep Alabamians incarcerated / worsen our prison crisis. Throughout this shared learning experience, we will center the work and expertise of organizers and advocates leading the fight for criminal justice reform, first amendment rights, voting rights, and reproductive justice.
