The ACLU of Alabama is teaming up with our community partner, SPLC’s Learning for Justice for the annual Teach Truth Day of Action. Community members from across the state are invited to join us on Saturday, June 10 at 1977 Books in Montgomery, Alabama from 12pm-2pm.
During our Teach Truth Day of Action, participants will learn about the history of redlining, a topic that could be banned from being taught in Alabama’s schools with the onslaught of legislation promoting classroom censorship.
Additionally, participants will have a chance to discuss their concerns with the attacks on teaching real history in our state. Free “banned books” will be given out to all participants and lunch will be provided.
